Welcome to A Sense of Place.
https://lbwedes.wordpress.com
This site examines how topography influences the individual, group, society, nation, and nation building through the effect ‘place’ has on culture, economy, politics, and other human facets.
This site does not claim to have or promote answers.
In fact, its purpose is to encourage more self reflection than any given absolute solution.
Feel free to add your own insights and related articles.
For articles, include an abstract and link only.
If discussing politics, please limit it to how a political movement is effected by its location as opposed to immediate ‘he said, she said’ discussions left to pundits.
Since the study of topography and the human situation is a broad field which ranges from anthropology to technology, feel free to post conferences which readers may find of interest in this multi-disciplined area of study.

It is exactly what told me Nikita Mihalkov, the great Russian film producer, about minorities living together in Russia… He made his own Film Production House to promote those ideas…
Mr. Mihalkov certainly leads a busy life as director, author, actor, political activist, and lyricist of the Soviet and Russian national anthems. Would you like to share some of the views on this subject he related to you?
A topological study of human interaction is precisely where to start and end up. Our intersections, directional feeds, and mutually exclusive motives define our world. A Sense of Place, placement, juxtaposition, ergonomic place is Feng Shui. Too bad Katy was not able to respond. We should get this blog up on the charts!
John:
Thank you for your kind words. It is often essential to view topography to understand human nature as they both dictate designed and obscured boundaries .
Both human and mother nature have a symbiotic and topographic relationship to draw upon, if we are keen to it.
My Regards,
Lloyd Wedes
The more I reflect on this, the harder it becomes to articulate what I am turning over in my mind. One thought emerges: Is place not also time? Place then is fluid and mutable, changing even as we are rooted to one spot. I am thinking most simply of the time of day, how we feel as night morphs into day and day back into night…dawn, high noon and twilight certainly affect my sense of place, and my connection to it. As you said, no answer here, only a thread…
